You think Maynard James Keenan has been in a lot of bands? Pfft, that’s not even scratching the surface of these 10 rockers.

These musicians are so prolific that you’d have to write an encyclopedia on them to uncover every single project in which they’ve been an official member. We don’t have definite numbers for how many bands these musicians have been in, but we dug deep to come up with a solid minimum. We’re not even counting bands they’ve just worked with as a guest musician and still these 10 guys are all in the double digits.

The master of juggling projects is arguably Mike Patton. The Faith No More vocals is always busy, dedicating his time to bands like Fantomas, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Dead Cross and over a dozen others. Not bad for a guy who’s still under 50 years old.

How about thrash legend Dan Lilker? As a founding member of Anthrax, he already cemented his titan status by cowriting Fistful of Metal, but it’s arguably Nuclear Assault that’s seen Lilker’s best work. Lilker has also been a constant force in grindcore veterans Brutal Truth and helped mold crossover thrash favorites S.O.D. with Scott Ian.

Who the hell knows how many bands Josh Freese has been a member of? We don’t, as we had to admit in our Loud List. Having appeared on about 400 albums, the drummer is one of the most prolific musicians ever, holding down the kit for A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N’ Roses, The Vandals, Sublime with Rome, The Offspring and so many more it makes our heads hurt.
