An 18 year-old Hamilton woman was killed early Saturday morning in a one-vehicle rollover crash on I-90 near Tarkio.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Alexander Hiday was the investigating officer.

"The crash occurred at 3:10 a.m. on Saturday, November 26 at mile marker 62 westbound," Hiday said. "The road condition was wet and foggy. The vehicle, a 1999 Ford Explorer, appeared to over correct causing the vehicle to skid and then roll in the westbound lane. It rolled through the median and came to rest on its wheels on the southside of the eastbound lane."

Hiday said two people were in the vehicle.

"The driver, an 18 year-old female from Hamilton, was pronounced dead at the scene, while her 18 year-old male passenger was injured, and transported to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula," he said.

Both were wearing seat belts. It is not known if either alcohol or speed may have played a part in the fatal accident.

The victim's name has not yet been released by the Mineral County Coroner, however, friends of the family have started a Facebook campaign to raise funds for her funeral service.
