The 2014 Oscar winners were announced Sunday, March 2 during the awards ceremony, hosted by celebrated comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and broadcast live by ABC.

All throughout the race leading up to Hollywood's big night, '12 Years a Slave' (directed by Steve McQueen and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor) was among the top contenders, and ende ended up walking away with the biggest award of the night, Best Picture, as well as Lupita Nyong'o well-deserved win for Best Supporting Actress. Elsewhere, Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity' walked away with the most wins -- seven total, including one for Best Director. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto both scored their first Golden Globes earlier this year for 'Dallas Buyers Club,' and both won in their respective categories at the 2014 Oscars, as well.
