The Garden City Shootout presented by the City Life Community Center -- one of the most prolific Summer tournaments in the state -- returns to the Southgate Mall this June for two days of entertaining basketball games and fun for the entire family. This year marks The 24th Anniversary​ for the Father’s Day Holiday tournament and it will once again feature the high-flying Dunk Contest and some of the best basketball players from the Pacific Northwest. The tournament will take place June 16th - 17th at the Southgate Mall in Missoula, MT. With competition for every skill level and fun for all ages, the excitement will be non-stop. We are offering the best-of-the-best local street food vendors, special discounts from local retailers, as well as the introduction of DJ Sunny, who will be jamming music all weekend long. For hundreds of fans, players, and coaches around the region, this is where memories are made. This year returns the Three-Point, Free Throw, and highly anticipated Dunk Contest. Along with many other great prizes, this year we are excited to introduce a new grand prize for the Elite Division: CASH MONEY​. "This event is reclaiming its glory and becoming one of the must play in 3on3’s every Summer. We are giving athletes and teams from all over the opportunity to compete in front of the community in a safe, friendly, high-spirited platform," Tournament Director Ja’Ton Simpson said. "We look forward to seeing the passionate fans, die-hard competition and expect some thrilling match-ups this year." New this year, the tournament will present a special division for the Great​ ​Community Challenge. ​Each local business/organization can enter a team into the tournament and compete against other groups. The grand prize is not only the friendly bragging rights all year long but also the beautiful trophy that can be on display in the front office that reads “Garden City Shootout Champions - 2018.​” Both Southgate Mall and City Life Community Center are proud to support this tournament and the opportunities it provides for athletes of all ages. City Life Community Center houses 14 non-profit organizations, a public gym, paintball course, and student center. The Community Center also provides sustainable youth and family programs within a framework of strategic relationships, outreach and partnerships in our community.
