When I’m at work I’m a total snacker. All my coworkers know I have a snack drawer, and if they’re itching for something to chew on they know where to look.

My snacks drawer always has Goldfish, chips, granola bars, candy bars and pretty much anything you can add to water to make it tasty. I love having a variety to help quench my hunger and thirst, but I’m getting a little bored with the old standbys. I think it’s time for a summer snack makeover.

Here are a list of the snacks I’m going to add to my snack drawer for the summer.

    Fresh fruit

I’m going to toss a couple apples, oranges and bananas in my drawer. Nothing says summer like fruit.

    Trail mix

Trail mix reminds me of hiking and camping, two things I enjoy doing in the summer. So, snacking on a little trail mix makes it really feel like summer is here.

    Dried fruit

I love dried fruit, not so much raisins, but bananas, apples, apricots, figs, kiwi and cherries. Dried fruit satisfies my sweet tooth. It’s my candy. A healthier version of Skittles and Starbursts.

    Popcorn

This seems like a lighter, healthier alternative to my chip addiction. The great thing is that you can get popcorn in almost any flavor now, so it should be a fairly easy switch.

    Reusable water bottle

There’s nothing better for you than water. I’m going to try to drink a lot more just plain water this summer. Nothing helps keep you hydrated like good old H2O.
