In the early hours of June 12, a lone gunman and ISIS sympathizer killed 50 people and injured more than 50 others at a nightclub in Orlando, Fla. The world has been reeling from the madness since the news broke and many in the rock and metal community have offered comments and sympathies.

The gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando was the target of what turned out to be the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. The shooter was known to harbor anti-gay and radical Islamic beliefs, which authorities believe were the main motives behind the Pulse massacre.

Rock artists have been among many people who have reacted to the horrific massacre, with musicians such as Corey Taylor, SlashTom Morello  and more expressing their disbelief and concern after the incident:

Venom Inc. sent out the following statement:

Currently we are touring North America again. The diversity of people makes me feel proud to be a citizen of the world in the most amazing countries that have a real pride in who they are and what they stand for! Yet still this terror over religious affiliations exist. We get stopped from playing a shown 'cause we are satanic, but now a murderous spree happens in Florida where innocent people are killed for doing nothing more than being in a land that holds true value on freedom. It could be despairing and my heart goes to those dead and their families. Humans create such atrocities but we cannot and must not give in to terror...fear is hiding away....let them feel the wrath of our strength! An eye for an eye...but innocents must not be the target. That would serve to make us like them and WE are more than that.

We'd like to send our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones in this senseless shooting. We'd also like to send our best wishes to those who were injured.
