Police arrested 31-year-old Luke Frank on Friday, April 20,  after a number of odd complaints were reported to 911 from a downtown Missoula park. Missoula police spokesman Travis Welsh explains.

"Friday evening officers were called to the report of some type of disturbance in the 600 block of Cregg Lane. Where it was said that there was an adult male swinging a baseball bat at people. When officers arrived, they made contact with other persons there that described the male breaking out vehicle windows with a bat and actually attempting to strike other people with it."

One of the eyewitnesses helped police find the baseball bat, the suspect was located a bit further down the trail apparently oblivious to what had happened.

"He left the park area, eastbound on the river trail through the tunnel underneath Orange Street,"Welsh said. "The officers were able to catch up to him a short distance away.  When he was contacted he said he had no memories of the events that had happened just moments before. He did have some injuries himself that he could not remember how he obtained."

Frank is now facing a felony assault with a weapon charge, along with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct charges.
