"A Stevensville Country Christmas" is a special holiday treat in the Bitterroot Valley December 9 and 10.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Outdoor and indoor Nativity scenes at the St Mary's Mission and Museum Friday and Saturday.
  • The "First Friday" late night openings of the town's businesses.
  • Friday - Charla Bauman's 6 p.m. Christmas concert at the North Valley Public Library.
  • Friday - Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree and the Parade of Lights begin at the Veterans Park on the north end of Main Street. Gather at 6:15 p.m. with your flashlights and walk to Third and Main for the Living Nativity Scene, the Christmas Story and caroling at 6:30 p.m.
  • Friday - Santa arrives and will be at the Valley Drug lobby after the Parade of Lights.
  • Friday - Wagon Rides will load at Mountain West Co-op-Cenex, starting at 7 p.m. with trolley and hay wagon rides downtown and a wagon going back and forth to St Mary's Mission.
  • The "Christmas Belles" play at the Stevensville Playhouse December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17.
  • Saturday - Booster Club Bazaar at Stevensville High School Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Bitterroot Valley Model Railroad Club - The trains will be running in the basement of Valley Drug Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday - "Splendor on Main" Holiday Gala will be at the Living Center this year with fine wines, food and hors doeuvres, live auction, raffle and more 6 p.m. Saturday. Tickets available at the Stevensville Main Street Association. Call 777-3773.
