Alter Bridge are now five albums into their career and it's safe to say that the partnership between singer Myles Kennedy and guitarist Mark Tremonti is a pretty strong one. The rockers both play guitar and sing and in this interview clip with Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez, they discuss what they've picked up from each other since starting Alter Bridge in 2004.

Tremonti says, "I think I try to pick his jazz and blues brain and I think over the years I've probably thrown a hell of a lot of metal at Myles, and you just learn from whoever you're writing with and we've been working together now for what seems like 15 years or so," before humorously adding, "I still don't know how to sing like him."

As for Kennedy, he had nothing but praise for Tremonti and calls him a true artist for his continuous obsession with evolving as a musician. "I think that's what's really great is that we recognized a kindred spirit from the beginning. The guy had sold 30 million records by the time we started playing together and every day before sound check and after sound check he's just obsessed with trying to evolve. I think that's really important," says Kennedy. "It shows that you truly care about the art and it's not about how many records can you sell or just some rock star ego. It's about the music and that's awesome."

Alter Bridge just released their fifth studio album, The Last Hero, earlier this fall. You can pick up a copy of the disc at iTunes.
