Foo Fighters will take to the Grammy stage once again this year. The Foos -- who have six nominations, including Album of the Year -- are among the first announced performers for this year's show. The Grammys air live on CBS on February 12th from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Finally a reason not to record it and actually watch!

The boys last performed on the Grammys in 2008, playing "The Pretender" outside the Staples Center with Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones conducting an orchestra made up of contest winners. I remember watching that and wishing I’d stayed in band and/or orchestra in high school.

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, Incubus drummer Jose Pasillas, Korn drummer Ray Luzier and ex-KISS drummer Peter Criss are among the musicians taking part in the 23rd annual Guitar Center Drum Off at Club Nokia in Los Angeles Saturday night. The event, which features all-star jams as well as five amateur drummers competing for a $50,000 prize, will be hosted by Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins.

Peter Criss will receive the Drum Legend award as part of the night.

Machine Head are bringing their “The Eighth Plague” tour to the states.  Suicide Silence and Darkest Hour will open.  If you’re determined to see this one hopefully you’re up for a road trip (and who isn’t?), they’re hitting all the big markets.
