Metallica will be making some sort of announcement today at noon Mountain time at Metallica.com. The band has posted a teaser video on YouTube that says, "You've seen them at festivals across the world...but you've never seen them..." Many fans are speculating that the announcement will be details about the band's 3D film, news of which leaked last fall.

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is set to make his acting debut in a short film called Shoot'er. The project is being made by Paul R. Brown, who's directed videos for the Crue, Stone Sour, Korn and Godsmack. Brown is trying to raise $44,000 via Kickstarter by March 15th to make the film, which is about a gunman-for-hire. Everyone who invests in the film will be mentioned in its closing credits.

Slash's as-yet-untitled second solo album is due out May 22nd. Unlike on his guest star-laden debut solo album, Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy takes all the lead vocals and co-wrote all the songs on this one. A series of behind-the-scenes videos about the sessions will be posted on YouTube. The first video went up yesterday.
