Ronnie Montrose, the guitarist that helped launch Sammy Hagar's career, died Saturday. He was 64. No official cause of death was announced, but he had been battling prostate cancer for the past five years.

After spending much of the past six months working on his film The Lords of Salem, Rob Zombie is getting ready to return to music. After he and his band complete their tour with Megadeth this May, they'll start work on a new album. Zombie writes on Facebook, "We will be packing up the band and moving to remote location to record. No distractions, just music."

Zombie's last studio album was 2010's Hellbilly Deluxe Two

Metallica fans, you can now own bracelets made out of Kirk Hammett's guitar strings. WearYourMusic.org is selling the bracelets, which are custom made for your wrist size. Profits will go to the MusiCares charity.  There are also James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo bracelets and a ton of other bands to choose from.  Super cool, kinda spendy, would make excellent birthday or anniversary gifts.

The Lorax was number-one at the weekend box office. The movie, based on a 1971 book by Dr. Seuss, earned $70.7 million, the biggest opening of the year so far.  I slept through it, pretty boring.  The teen comedy Project X debuted in a distant second with $20.8 million, wish I had seen that one instead.
