The deadline to apply for FWP’s special license drawings for antelope and elk and deer B licenses is TODAY, June 1.

Hunters can apply in minutes for special big game hunting licenses on Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ website at fwp.mt.gov, are also reminded to make sure whether or not a special license is needed in the area they hope to hunt this fall.

Hunters who may be interested in the elk shoulder season this year, should pay close attention to the licenses required for the area they may look to hunt. Shoulder seasons will be held in 43 hunting districts around the state. Each district has specific regulations, so do your homework and make sure you’re applying for the license you need.

“Don’t get frustrated by showing up to hunt only to find you don’t have the license you need,” said FWP spokesman Greg Lemon. “Do a little homework upfront and you’ll encounter few surprises come hunting season.”

Paper applications must be postmarked by June 1, or submitted to any FWP regional office, or to FWP headquarters in Helena, by June 1 at 5 p.m.

Information about FWP’s SuperTag lottery, deadlines, and how to purchase $5 chances to win a special big game hunting license is also available via FWP’s SuperTag web page.
