Bill Ward Officially Bows Out of Black Sabbath Reunion Shows

After an incredibly drawn out and heartbreaking process, original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward has announced to his fans that he will officially not be participating in the Sabbath reunion shows. The legendary drummer wrote a detailed explanation regarding his decision, adding, “I am sincerely passionate in my desire to play with the band, and I’m very, very sorry that it’s fallen to this.”

Opeth Frontman Mikael Akerfeldt Hospitalized After Car Accident

Opeth frontman Mikael Akerfeldt was rushed to the hospital last night (May 7) after a car accident in Maplewood, Minn., prior to the band’s scheduled show with Mastodon and Ghost. Details on his condition at the moment are scarce, but Akerfeldt is said to have suffered a broken arm in the wreck.

Before Marilyn Manson‘s performance, Golden Gods host Chris Jericho introduced Damien Echols, who was recently released from prison after 18 years. Echols is one of the West Memphis Three, a trio of young men who were convicted of murder without solid evidence to back it up. After much support from artists such as Manson and new discoveries such as upgraded DNA testing, which did not place any of the West Memphis Three at the scene of the crime, the three were released last year.
