P.O.D. entered an indefinite hiatus more than four years ago. Spawned by frontman Sonny Sandoval’s disenchantment of the music business, it was unclear if we’d ever hear from the band again. But with the passing of time and a return to their roots, the band was able to get back to what really made them excited about making music from day one. The results? P.O.D.’s latest disc, ‘Murdered Love.’
As we reported recently, Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl was set to be honored by his birth city, Warren, Ohio, with some record breaking drumsticks. On Saturday (July 7), the 900-pound monster drumsticks made out of poplar logs were unveiled during a ceremony, and although Grohl couldn’t make the festivities in person, he was there in spirit.
Pennywise singer Zoli Teglas recently collapsed onstage in Germany during his band’s set at the With Full Force Festival. Teglas had been experiencing back pains throughout the tour due to a herniated disc.

Avenged Sevenfold fans in North America were bracing for a summer without any live shows from their favorite band until Metallica came and saved the day. Invited to participate in the Orion Music and More Festival in Atlantic City on June 24, Avenged Sevenfold decided to make the most of it, adding a few one off shows prior to their festival appearance. The first of the three shows was in Quebec City, Canada on June 21 followed by a second show on June 22 in Uncasville, Conn.
