Be careful before you judge what you see. Baroness are back with a brand new video for "Shock Me" and while you think you may have a grasp early on about the dynamic in play, the band turns the tables a bit.

Don Tyler and the band's own John Baizley directed the "Shock Me" video with art direction by Karen Jerzyk, shooting the video in rural Pennsylvania. While the group is absent from the clip, an interesting conceptual story unfolds. The video centers on a young woman seemingly dreaming that she's entered a rundown church. Dressed in white and shrouded by a veil she tentatively steps toward the front of the room where a woman is playing a piano dressed darkly in stark contrast to the woman approaching. At first it seems like the piano-playing woman has command over the situation, but it's not long before the veiled woman's clothing turns dark and the piano playing woman serving at her feet. Symbolism abounds throughout, making for an interesting watch.

"Shock Me" is the band's current single from their Purple album. The disc, released in December, has received high praise since it's arrival. It's currently available digitally via iTunes and physically via the band's webstore.

In other Baroness news, the band is hitting the road later this month to start a North American trek. Youth Code will play the full run, while the opening slot will be split between Mutoid Man playing dates in Eastern Canada and Heiress opening shows in Western Canada. The run continues through a June 3 stop in Los Angeles. However, the band has been confirmed to perform at Psycho Las Vegas in August. See dates and details below.
