Benefit For 3-year-old Stiles Johnson

You may have heard Stiles' dad on my show on Thursday. Here are the details of Stiles' progress and fundraiser, set to take place starting at noon on Saturday at Harold's Club.

Stiles Jack Walker Johnson was diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation 2 years ago. His skull is not growing with his brain. Last month they discovered that he now has Syringomyelia as well. His cerebellum that has been growing out the base of his skull is putting pressure on his cerebral spinal fluid, which is causing his spinal fluid to back up and create pockets in his spine. Had this not been caught, he would be paralyzed quickly. Stiles is having surgery on Tuesday the 15th where his neurologist will cut a peice of his skull and first vertebrae off and place a duraplast on his brain to protect it. He will be at Seattle children's hospital in ICU after his surgery for 3-5 days.
