Black Sabbath: First North American Tour Date of 2013 Confirmed
Black Sabbath have confirmed their first North American tour date of 2013. The band is expected to tour stateside from July through September, with an Aug. 14 show in Toronto being the first confirmation that Black Sabbath will indeed grace North American soil once again.
The legendary act invigorated the metal world on Nov. 11, 2011 (11-11-11) when original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward reunited to announce a new album and world tour. The news seemed too good to be true, and unfortunately, it suffered a few setbacks. Guitarist Tony Iommi was diagnosed with lymphoma less than two months after the reunion announcement, and drummer Bill Ward chose to exit the reunion due to contractual issues soon after. The Sabbath reunification seemed to bear a curse from the very beginning, but in 2013, the band will deliver both a new album and a full-scale North American tour.
Having just completed recording their new album ’13,’ Black Sabbath have finally given fanatics a June 11 release date for the record. With the future of ’13’ cemented, the first piece of Sabbath’s 2013 North American tour has been revealed, and the lucky people of Toronto can expect to be entertained by the heavy metal architects on August 14 at the Air Canada Centre. Tickets for the show will become available on April 13.
Stay tuned for more Black Sabbath dates in North America as they become public.
