Cabela’s will present the Missoula Parks and Recreation’s MORE Program with one of those big, fun presentation checks for their efforts in providing outdoor recreation programs while promoting stewardship to people of all abilities.

Join the celebration this Thursday, August 6th at Silver's Lagoon, which is the new all abilities play area at McCormick Park. There will be lots of kids and fun for the whole family.

The MORE Program was awarded a $2,500 grant from the Cabela’s Outdoor Fund to help provide opportunities for youth, aging adults, and people with disabilities to experience fishing and outdoor related activities.

The grant is made possible by YOU, the Cabela's customers, who round up purchases at the local store to the nearest whole dollar. Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, a non-profit organization, combines donations from like-minded Cabela’s customers to support organizations that are working to make the great outdoors even better.

The total project cost for the MORE Program is $14,100 and will help sustain the program with key items like fishing equipment for disabled for years. The items procured from these funds will help several Missoula Parks and Recreation MORE Programs with outdoor recreation activities including: Missoula Movers for active older adults; Reach MORE for people with disabilities; Youth after school programs; Youth Summer camps; Instructional programs; and Community based programs.
