As far as physical professions go, being a musician is usually one of the most injury free occupations you could choose. Still, there are the occasional accidents that happen on the road and Shinedown bassist Eric Bass is feeling the effects of a performance mishap last night (March 22) in Lubbock, Texas.
There's no doubt that Metallica love Motorhead, and now there's some additional video footage to prove it. Back in 1995, the Metallica members, decked out in long black-haired wigs, took the stage at Los Angeles' Whisky-a-Go-Go to play a set of Motorhead songs in honor of Lemmy Kilmister's 50th birthday. Now, the famous venue has just posted video from the performance on YouTube.
03/21/2013 I am a firm believer of Murphy's Law (That which can go wrong will go wrong.) Just before the Volbeat performance kicked off, I realized the battery to our camera was dead. Just about had to call it a night without photos and video, if it wasn't for you loyal Blazers.
03/21/2013 The final encore song of the night was a fun one. Michael Poulsen had spent most of the band's set making sure that all the younger fans in the crowd had proper hearing protection, by tossing ear plugs to them in the crowd. As he said "Looking out for the future of metal." Volbeat then invited all of the youngsters on stage to join the band for their final song.

Back in December, Karen Minch reached out to me to ask about doing a favor in honor of her late husband Ken. We took it a step further and surprised Karen and her family with a little something extra.
The 2013 Mayhem Festival may not arrive until late June, but four of the bands on the bill gave a great taste of what's to come at the Mayhem Festival press conference Monday (March 18) in Los Angeles. Headliners Rob Zombie and Five Finger Death Punch fielded questions, while up-and-coming acts Huntress and Butcher Babies took over the Whisky-a-Go-Go for an in-your-face performance.
As promised, the lineup for the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour was revealed today (March 18), and the headliners include Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and Mastodon. The trek kicks off June 29 in San Bernardino, Calif., and runs through an Aug. 4 stop in Dallas.
You never know what you're going to get when you invite the crowd up onstage with you for a performance. What the Dropkick Murphys got during their recent set in New York was at least one audience member who made his way onstage and began performing the Hitler salute as the band rocked out a cover of AC/DC's 'T.N.T.'
Black Sabbath have confirmed their first North American tour date of 2013. The band is expected to tour stateside from July through September, with an Aug. 14 show in Toronto being the first confirmation that Black Sabbath will indeed grace North American soil once again.
