Even though the U.K. may be thousands of miles away, it really is a small world when the Internet gets involved. And that is something that Dave Grohl is realizing firsthand this week after making comments Sunday to the Reading Festival crowd that it would be the last time they would see the Foo Fighters for a long while.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl announced from the stage at the UK’s Reading festival on Sunday night (Aug. 26) that the gig would be their last show for a long time, as it marked the end of their summer tour. However, the band does have a couple of more high-profile gigs at the various festivals throughout September.
There’s no doubt the Foo Fighters rock, and it’s usually pretty hard when they do. But their efforts were not exactly embraced by everyone in the surrounding Belfast area Tuesday night (Aug. 21) as a number of people filed noise complaints during the band’s set on the opening night of Tennant’s Vital festival.

The celebration took place yesterday (July 7), and while Grohl wasn’t able to attend, he found another way to express his sincere gratitude for the enormous gift.
As we reported recently, Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl was set to be honored by his birth city, Warren, Ohio, with some record breaking drumsticks. On Saturday (July 7), the 900-pound monster drumsticks made out of poplar logs were unveiled during a ceremony, and although Grohl couldn’t make the festivities in person, he was there in spirit.
Yes, Dave Grohl can pound the drums with the best of them, but he may have a little trouble dealing with the drumsticks presented by the city of his birth – Warren, Ohio.
We already knew Dave Grohl was not only an amazingly talented & hilarious dude, but also a very kind dude. He proved it once again when he left a bartender a $1,000 tip for serving him ONE drink.
