It started when we received a handful of bumper stickers. Soon, Kandahar Air Field (KAF) was dotted with oval decals reading “Montana Is For Badasses.” Whether it’s the living quarters, on the way to the Boardwalk, or just dropping off laundry, my unit sees little reminders of our badass home state.

Back during the holiday season, I put out the call for help from you to gather items to ship over to our very own Montana National Guard unit in Afghanistan. Lots of you donated everything from tooth brushes to cash. We "passed the hat" a couple more times and, thanks to Nick and Logan from Bubs N Boards, we finally got some goodies heading to JC and the rest of the 495th.

No, I did not freak and pull it out but I figured that chopping off the mane would make it alot easier to deal with for the year that I will be gone. Guys in the Army, much less guys in general, don't get how much work it is to comb out and care for long locks, and if you plan on styling it? Good God, you better have an extra hour to spare in your schedule! Military side, however, I had so much hair and the regulation bun style hair-do was getting in the way of everything! Time to go! Plus, I thought it would be a good idea to stock up some heaven points before deployment by donating all 20 inches we chopped of to Locks of Love. Bal
