Before Marilyn Manson‘s performance, Golden Gods host Chris Jericho introduced Damien Echols, who was recently released from prison after 18 years. Echols is one of the West Memphis Three, a trio of young men who were convicted of murder without solid evidence to back it up. After much support from artists such as Manson and new discoveries such as upgraded DNA testing, which did not place any of the West Memphis Three at the scene of the crime, the three were released last year.

Bass players are often the unsung hero of the band, but nobody ever overlooked Gray — during his life or after his passing.
Hellyeah presented the award for best drummer and, in what had to be an incredible honor, Vinnie Paul passed the torch to this year’s winner — Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch.
Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor jumped onstage with Trivium and Machine Head‘s Robb Flynn for a rousing performance of Metallica‘s ‘Creeping Death’ at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards tonight (April 11) in Los Angeles.
Sixx: A.M. took to the stage for a burning performance at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards tonight (April 11) of their singles ‘This is Gonna Hurt’ and ‘Are You with Me,’ marking their first live performance in nearly four years.
Green Day‘s recording pace has certainly slowed over the years — it took them four years to complete ‘American Idiot’ and five to finish the follow-up, ’21st Century Breakdown,’ which was released three years ago — but they’re about to start making up for lost time with a whopping three albums of new music, scheduled to be released between September 2012 and January 2013.
