The season ended sadly for the University of Montana Grizzlies Saturday afternoon in Missoula.

Not only did the Griz end the season 5 and 6, their first losing season in over 20 years, but that record came at the hands of our cross-state rivals, the MSU Bobcats..inside our home Washington-Grizzly stadium.

So...now the Griz will look to next season and a very talented group of underclassmen, who will have to work very hard to get the Griz back in the top 25, above .500 in the win-loss column, and hopefully, back in to the playoffs in a new very competitive Big Sky Conference.

Congratulations to the 12 seniors who suited up for the final time as Grizzlies. It was heartbreaking to see Josh Harris practically carried off the field, after playing through a number of devastating injuries. Peter Nguyen rushed for 112 yards, averaging over 8 yards a carry in his final game.

What a year! First, charges of sexual assaults and rape tore through the team, and the firing of Athletic Director Jim O' Day and head coach Robin Pflugrad devastated Griz Nation. Now, several federal agencies and the NCAA are all investigating the program, and there's no word on how or when those inquiries might end.

The continuing drama will be played out before our eyes, and KGVO will attempt to cover it all as events occur.
