I am very excited. This weekend my boys and I are doing our first-ever race together. Yes, this saturday you can find all five of us behind a pair of shades at the Color Me Rad 5K right here in Missoula.

The Color Me Rad 5K race will be at Flying H Stables and Rooster Ridge Pheasant Club on May 4. The proceeds from this race go to benefit the Zootown Arts Community Center.

I am very excited to have this race as the first race my boys and I do together. I think my kids will love this race. All kids love getting dirty and all kids love color. This race is a perfect marriage of dirty and color that is sure to make your kids love (or at least not complain about) running three miles.

The way the Color Me Rad race works is that as you are relaxingly running your three miles, enjoying all the views that Missoula has to offer, you are pelted with color bombs. Of course, in your race packet you are given a lovely shirt, a pair of shades and a color bomb for yourself.

The shades are to save your eyes from falling color debris, the shirt is a token of a job well done and the color bomb is for you to bomb one of your lovely race partners at the finish line.

If you don’t enjoy long jogs in the country, don’t fret, you can always join the bomb squad and throw color bombs at your friends and random people.

If you’re worried that it might be too late to get signed up for this colorful canter through the outskirts of Missoula, don’t be. You can still get signed up. Just go to colormerad.com and pick Missoula. We hope to see you there!
