Another scam is going around that you need to be aware of. Around 5pm on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 Missoula resident Heidi Mikulski was at home when a door to door salesperson stopped by. He said his name is Earl Glaspie and he was trying to sell packages of meat and seafood. Heidi was courteous enough to invite him in and listen to his sales pitch. He then covered her floor with different cuts of meat and large bags of seafood with a large package initally costing $379.00. Heidi refused but after bartering for a while and knowing she had family in town soon she settled on $300 for the whole package including King Crab legs, large bags of shrimp, and various steak cuts.

A few days later Heidi opened the large package of king crab legs to find them slimy, they smelled fine, but that wasn't enough for her to prepare those for dinner. She then unpackaged all of the other items she bought and found the meat to be covered in a yellow looking fat and completely inedible.

Heidi tried contacting the company, and their office number has been disconnected. She reached out to Consumer Protection and they said they would file a complaint and send the business a letter in the mail, also she was instructed to contact local police. Unfortunately without a business front or a lot of information the Missoula Police Department don't have a lot to work with. Heidi is mostly disappointed in herself for not realizing it was a scam, but she wants to make sure that no one else becomes a victim. Please let your friends and family know so they don't make the same mistake.
