Just before 5:00 a.m. on Monday, the Missoula Rural Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 903 Como Drive.

Fire Chief Bill Colwell said the residents of the home escaped the flames before first responders arrived. The first crews saw smoke venting from all the eaves of the home, and crews estimated the 22 by 46 structure was 75 percent involved.

Colwell said the fire was contained and called out by just after 7:35 a.m. and no one was injured in the blaze. The Red Cross was on scene to assist the residents.

Missoula City Fire, East Missoula and Frenchtown Fire Districts covered any additional calls while the Missoula Rural crews were on scene.

Colwell said the cause of the fire and where it started are still under investigation.
