37 year-old Dustin McGough appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Monday charged with felony theft, for allegedly stealing a GMC Terrain SUV, tampering with evidence and a felony drug warrant for $10,000.

According to court documents, McGough allegedly stole a 2010 GMC Terrain from a residence on Highway 93 North when he heard that law enforcement was en route to the residence, since he had an outstanding drug warrant. McGough initially denied stealing the vehicle, but when the Missoula County Sheriff's deputy found the key in McGough's pocket, he admitted the theft, and that he and a companion had disabled the OnStar tracking system.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Selene Koepke asked Judge Karen Orzech for $10,000 bond.

"The defendant was charged with theft of a vehicle, a GMC Terrain, valued at over $20,000," Koepke said. "He does have a felony conspiracy to distribute cocaine warrant out of California, and for that reason the state is asking for bail of $10,000 with conditions that he have no contact with the victims in this case, as well as from their property."

Judge Karen Orzech set bail at $10,000 and ordered him to appear again on June 15.
