DESCRIPTION:MISSION & OBJECTIVE  The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival celebrates the art of non-fiction filmmaking and promotes media literacy by establishing a forum for documentary in the American West.    ABOUT THE FESTIVAL  Our competitive event screens world and U.S. premieres back to back with documentary classics on Montana's largest screen at the historic Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula. Over 100 films screen to enthusiastic audiences over ten days. The event also includes several filmmaking and technology panels\, VIP parties and receptions\, and awards celebrations. Prizes and cash awards are given in four competitive categories - Best Documentary Feature\, Best Documentary Short\, Best MiniDoc\, and the Big Sky Award.
