Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop hopped on social media over the weekend to address a recent incident with a fan at a signing prior to one of the band's performances that left said fan with a less than favorable opinion of the vocalist.

The fan in question, Jessica Bruce, claimed in an account that was placed online that after spending hours waiting to get to meet the group she asked Worsnop if she could hug him only for the singer to respond that he "wouldn't have time for such s--t" as he pulled away and pushed her friend away as well. She also spotted a crying girl who had been waiting in line, only to see the singer give the sign to the other band members it was time to go. When guitarist Ben Bruce came back to hug Jessica's friend, Worsnop allegedly pulled him away as well as Bruce apologized while leaving with the singer. "I was so disgusted by his attitude," says Bruce in her account.

Worsnop has since responded, acknowledging that he did turn down a hug, but stating that there was a misunderstanding in what Bruce heard from him. In a series of tweets, Worsnop addressed the situation.

"My apologies, but your friend misheard. I said 'sorry, I don't have time right now' as I had a meeting. I also shook her hand, not pushed," said the singer. "Furthermore, I wasn't supposed to be at that signing at all, but went anyway to make sure people got their posters signed. In other news, my signings resume in Russia! Head towards merch after the show for signed copies of the album and pictures."

He later continued, "I wasn't trying to start a war there, just correcting misinformation. The apology for being misheard/misunderstood is a genuine one. Imagine if there were no signings or socials... People would have to appreciate the art without my personal life dictating if they like it. I have a solution to this whole thing. I'm drawing a line in the sand between my art and personal life. Socials are now for career only, I will hold Album/Print signings & acoustics. I'm taking my life back, thank you for enjoying what I create." See the tweets below.

After Worsnop's comments, Bruce maintained her stance, stating in tweets, "I am not a kid, I'm 21 and I just got there to meet AA, I stood one meter before him, and it's not that he didn't hugged me. ... I didn't misheard him, he said no time for such s--t and I didn't get it wrong. Wouldn't believe it too, when I was you.. but I'd never lie."

Asking Alexandria are currently wrapping up a tour through Russia and will have a bit of a break before returning stateside for the Scars and Stripes Festival in Las Vegas in June. See their dates here.
