Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett Replaces Happy Daggers Guitarist’s Stolen Fender Telecaster

We've seen plenty of stories about "Good Guy Grohl" over the years, but the Foo Fighters leader doesn't corner the market on generous gestures. In fact, Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett just earned some serious karma points for helping out a fellow musician after that guitarist's Fender Telecaster was stolen.

According to The Sun, Sinclair Belle of the band U.K. band Happy Daggers recently had his Fender Telecaster Deluxe stolen from his car. The instrument was one endorsed by Shiflett and had great value to Belle and the story of his stolen guitar eventually made its way to a Foo Fighters U.K. fan group board. It was there that Shiflett learned of the story, and he reached out to Belle to offer him a replacement.

"I was winding down from the week when a message came through the band’s Facebook page," said Belle. "It was a message from Chris Shiflett. He said he had seen the article and to let him know if I wanted another one sending. Initially I thought it was a hoax." In a message displayed in the Sun article, Shiflett wrote, "Hey Sinclair. I read about your guitar getting stolen. Bummer! I’d be happy to send you another." He later added, "Nothing worse than having your guitar ripped off."

A few weeks later after returning from vacation, Belle found a guitar waiting for him. "It was exactly the same guitar, but in gold as they didn't have any of the white ones. I played it straight away and we had a rehearsal the following weekend. The rest of the band were quite astounded." Belle says he wrote Shiflett to thank for the gift, with the guitarist responding, "I hope it serves you well my friend."
