The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on April 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and the Foo Fighters have been given the honor of inducting Canadian prog rockers Rush at this year’s event.

The Foo’s Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins will induct Rush members Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, and according to event organizer Joel Peresman, the duo might even perform with Rush.

“Dave and Taylor were one of the first people we thought about to induct Rush. They said 'yes' in about two seconds. I'm hopeful [they’ll play together],” Peresman told Rolling Stone. “More than a few times in the past, people have got caught in the moment and decide to perform. That’s what happened last year with Green Day - they were just there to present an award to Guns N' Roses and after hanging around rehearsals, they decided to play.”

“You have Dave Grohl around, Don Henley there … Who knows what will happen?" he added. "We have some very interesting people."

Other inductees include Randy Newman, who will be inducted by the Eagles’ Don Henley, and Heart, who will be welcomed in by Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell. Viewers can also look forward to an onstage performance by the famed female rockers alongside Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready. Additionally, Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera are set to perform in tribute to the late Donna Summer.
