Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will make his film acting debut playing Iggy Pop in CBGB, the upcoming film about the legendary New York club. The movie will start shooting on June 25th in Savannah, Georgia before moving on to locations in New York.

Foos frontman Dave Grohl will appear at the premiere of A Death in the Family: The Show Must Go On Monday at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in Hollywood. The short film documents the behind-the-scenes events at this year's Grammy Awards.

Linkin Park are the latest act to beam a concert to movie theaters across the country. The band had its concert in Berlin last night filmed and it will be shown June 25th on a couple hundred movie screens. Linkin Park plan to shoot a special introduction to the concert, which featured songs from their new album Living Things. It's due out the day after the screening.

For a band that took a year off, the individual members of Sevendust are pretty busy.

  • Drummer Morgan Rose, whose side project with guitarist Clint Lowery Call Me No One released their debut album this week, will be playing drums on the upcoming second album from New York hard rockers The Infinite Staircase.
  • Projected, which features Sevendust guitarist John Connolly and bassist Vince Hornsby along with Alter Bridge drummer Scott Phillips, has completed work on its debut album Human. That's due out in the late fall.
  • And Sevendust have announced that their year hiatus will end at the beginning of September, as they've booked studio time to start work on their next album.
