I was looking for something for dinner this weekend and ran across this recipe. I thought the recipe was a little plain the way it was, so I spiced it up a little bit. I was sure my boys would like it since it had tater tots, but was really surprised when my husband loved it.

The Rotel gives it a nice bit of spice, without making it too spicy. My brother had suggested adding a layer of Velveeta in the middle, but half of my boys hate cheese, so I chose to leave it out. However, it is a great option for the cheese lovers out there.

If you’re looking for a tasty casserole that your kids are sure to love this week, give this a try.

French Fried Tater Tot Casserole

1 bag tater tots

1 can of French fried onions

2 cans cream of soup

1 can Rotel

2 pounds burger

1/2 large onion, diced

Brown the burger and the onions in a skillet on medium heat. While meat is browning, defrost the tater tots in a large bowl. Once the tots are thawed, add the Rotel and the French fried onions to the tots and mix until combined.

Pour the burger and onion mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Top the burger with the tater tot mix. Pour the soup over the whole thing.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
