The devastating Reynolds Creek fire which burned down a historic Glacier National Park Cabin and shut down sections of the Going to the Sun Road now appears to be human caused.

"We have an investigation looking into the cause and origin of the Reynolds Creek Fire and our initial investigation suggests that the fire was caused by human actions," said Glacier National Park spokeswoman Denise Germann." So we are looking for any park visitors that may have been in the Reynolds Creek area from July 14 to July 21."

As to the type of human action that is believed to have started the blaze, no information has yet been released. Investigators are trying to piece together what happened by getting reports from a variety of different viewpoints.

"[We want to hear from park visitors that] may have been hiking through the area," Germann said. "They might have been on the Gunsight Pass trail, They might have been in the Reynolds Creek back country campground. They may not think that they have any clear information for us, but we would really like to talk to anyone that may have been in that area at that time."

Those that fit the description are asked to call park officials at 888-653-0009 to help with the investigation.
