Graduation Matters Meeting Thursday in Missoula [AUDIO]
Graduation Matters Missoula invites area students, teachers, parents and other community members to attend an update on the initiative’s progress.
The meeting will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, in the Missoula County Public Schools Business Building, 915 South Avenue West.
Graduation Matters Missoula is a school-community initiative focused on improving area graduation rates and reducing the number of students that drop out of high school before earning a diploma. This year, the initiative is focused on improving student attendance; ensuring positive early childhood development; increasing student engagement; and building resilience and positive attributes in 5th graders as they transition to middle school. The initiative is seeking volunteers to get involved in its committees and support programs that help students succeed in school.
Executive Regional Director of school district one Mark Thane says Thursday’s meeting will provide information about recent progress on improving MCPS graduation rates – as well as provide opportunities for community members to learn more about current projects and register to become involved in the initiative.
