Dominic Farrenkopf will be the new Hamilton mayor, following his victory over Travis Martinez in this week's municipal election vote count. We show him with his wife, Hannah, shortly after he found out he'd won the election.

Farrenkopf, one of three new mayors voted in by the mail-in ballots in the county, will take over the position from Jerry Steele, who did not run for re-election. The other new mayors are Buck Titus in Darby and Brandon Dewey in Stevensville. The official canvass of the results will be later this month.

Farrenkopf, community activities director at Sapphire Lutheran Homes, has been active in a wide range of community activities, including fundraising campaigns, poetry contests, and outdoor concert promotion.

He also likes to wear costumes occasionally to raise money for charities. He's had a variety of strange haircuts, he's been a Santa, an Easter bunny, a very tall leprechaun, and this week a turkey in the Turkey Trot - another fundraiser for another local charity. He'll be talking about that and more on this Friday's Event Show on 1240 NewsTalk KLYQ and online at KLYQ.com.
