I love making cookies for my family and they love to eat them. However, I get tired of eating (and making) the same old chocolate chip cookies over and over again. So, I am always looking for new recipes to try out, especially recipes that are sneakily healthy. That way I can give my family the sweets they love without having the guilt of all the sugar and transfats that go with them.

I ran across this recipe on my dessert search and was excited to try it. It is so healthy for you but is also so good too. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I have, it’s my spin on one of Dr Oz’s cookie recipes.

Healthy No Bake Chocolate Chip Quinoa Cookies

1 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup apple sauce

1/2 cup honey

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 cups cooked quinoa

2/3 cup flour

1/2 cup oatmeal

3 tablespoons ground flax seed

1/2 cup chocolate chips

Take the peanut butter, apple sauce, honey and vanilla into a mixer and whip until nice and smooth. Toss the quinoa, flour, salt, oatmeal, and flax seed on top of the already mixed ingredients. Now mix until well combined. Hand stir in the chocolate chips.

Line a couple baking sheets with wax paper and then drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the sheets. Place the sheets in the freezer for 25 minutes to cure.
