A moist weather system will arrive Monday afternoon and drop over a foot of snow on the west slopes of the Bitterroot mountains.

Forecaster Ryan Leach with the National Weather Service office in Missoula says Lolo and Lost Trail passes will receive significant snowfall Monday might through Tuesday.

Leach says the Missoula area will receive light snowfall, but gusty winds may make driving difficult with blowing snow. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the area from 5 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
