All this week, Missoula County High School students are taking part in College Application Week.

Communications Director Hatton Littman said the state-wide program helps students prepare for the next step in their education.

"High school students, especially the seniors, are preparing their college entrance applications, as well as their FAFSA, the federal application for financial aid," Littman said. "That could be a large assembly focusing on college with a motivational speaker. In fact, on Friday, Big Sky is hosting the international slam-dunk champion Kenny Dobbs in a morning assembly on Friday, but schools have special events all week."

Littman said there are Willard Alternative High School students visiting the UM campus on Tuesday.

"In addition, the activities in high schools could also include helping students to complete their college entrance applications, and time for them to complete their FAFSA," she said. "It's also important to note that during this week, student application fees from Montana university system schools are waived, which could save hundreds of dollars, depending on how many schools they apply to."
