Long live love metal! Finnish rock favorites HIM, often associated with their "love metal" sound, have announced that they are calling it a career, but not without saying their farewell to fans on the road with one final major tour.

Singer Ville Valo stated in the posting announcing their pending farewell, "After a quarter of a century of Love and Metal intertwined we sincerely feel HIM has run its unnatural course and adieus must be said in order to make way for sights, scents and sounds yet unexplored. We completed the pattern, solved the puzzle and turned the key. Thank you."

The band started their career in 1991, formed by Valo along with guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindstrom and bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen. During their 26 year career, the band released eight studio albums, with 2013's Tears on Tape being the most recent. Now, to finish off their career, the band will play 14 countries across 35 shows.

"At the end of 2017 we will be released into the wild," says bassist Mige. "Before this event of great transformation we would love to offer you one last chance to experience our live performances in His Majesty's service. It shall not be a weepfest but a celebration of love metal in all its lovecraftian glory! See you there!"

At present, the start date for their touring comes Jun 14 in Barcelona, Spain at Razzmatazz and wraps Dec. 17 at London's Roundhouse. However, there is a big gap in their scheduling between July and November and the band has teased that U.S. and Finnish dates will be announced soon. Tickets for the band's farewell tour will go on sale at 9AM local time this Wednesday (March 8). See all of their currently scheduled dates below and stay tuned additional tour dates.
