Missoula County Commissioners have asked the Office of Emergency Management to begin gathering information on assistance for furloughed federal government workers.

OEM Director Adriane Beck said most of the information is readily available, but not in one place for the convenience of those temporarily without paychecks, or until those paychecks arrive.

“One of the things that we were directed to pursue was essentially rounding up all the resources that are already available 365 days a year in Missoula County from our wonderful non-government partners, and providing that in a one-stop-shop for those who may not know what those resources are,” said Beck.

Just moments ago, President Trump announced that an agreement had been reached to reopen the government for three weeks, until February 15, however, there was an implied threat that the government could be shut down again, so the information from Missoula County is still necessary, or at least until employees receive their back pay.
