Yeah! Today could possibly be the best day of the year. Today, Dec. 9 is National Pastry Day, and I love pastries. They are my one weakness when I’m on a diet. Many other things I can resist, but pastries are not one of them. This holiday is a great excuse for me to enjoy some of my favorite pastries.

Great Harvest Bread Co. is one of the best bakeries in Missoula. They have enormous cookies, and make the best cinnamon roll loaf I’ve ever had. If you are looking for delicious bread, then this is the place for you.

Bernice’s Bakery is probably my favorite. Their stuffed cream cheese pockets are amazing, and I’ve had a few custom cakes from there that are pretty darn good too. You can’t go wrong with something from Bernice’s Bakery.

Black Cat Bake Shop is another one of Missoula’s best bakeries. Their stollen (bread-like fruitcake) is some of the best, and their croissants and huckleberry coffee cake are to die for. Not only does this place have great pastries, but their coffee is pretty darn good too.

If you’re looking for a great way to celebrate this day, then try one of these local bakeries. If you really want to celebrate, and are in the holiday mood, you could get some for the whole family.
