Newstalk Radio KGVO 1290 AM and 101.5 FM will again be the flagship stations for the Montana Grizzlies this football season, and the long-time play-by-play team of Mick Holien and Scott Gurnsey will be behind the microphone again.

Montana Sports Information and Learfield Sports said Tuesday that Holien will be providing play-by-play for the 21st year, after having been selected as the 'Sportscaster of the Year" for the sixth straight year. Scott Gurnsey, record setting receiver for Montana, returns for his 15th year as color commentator.

"Yeah, its been a long old run, and I couldn't be more excited about, and I'm anxious to get the season started," Holien said. "Last year was the first time in my tenure that the team lost more games than it won, and I'm not used to having the loss column be longer than the win column, I'll tell you. I can guarantee you that this group of guys is working their tails off to get better. They were all in the weight room all summer. To be honest, I picked the team fifth, and I'd just as soon we were picked seventh or eighth, because I think this team is going to surprise a lot of people."

The Grizzly Coach's Show will be in a new location this season, Dickie's Barbeque in downtown, Missoula.

The first game will be Saturday, August 31, at 7:00 p.m. under the lights in Washington-Grizzly Stadium against perennial FCS powerhouse Appalachian State from Boone, South Carolina.

The games will also be broadcast 21 stations in 17 communities statewide on the Grizzly Sports Network.
