Lamb of God’s Chris Adler Explains Slayer Tour Absence

As the second North American leg of Slayer's farewell tour was set to kick off, Lamb of God issued a statement explaining that drummer Chris Adler would not be present on the trek due to "unforeseen circumstances." Art Cruz (Winds of Plague, Prong) was tapped as his fill-in and now Adler has come forward explaining that an injury has kept him on the sidelines.

In a post on Instagram, the skinsman shared a photo of his surgically repaired right shoulder. "I had a motorcycle accident late last year that shattered my collarbone and right shoulder and also chipped bones in my hip," he revealed after thanking fans for the "overwhelming amount of well wishes," noting he was humbled by the outpouring.

He further revealed that a surgery "corrected the broken bones," allowing him to play earlier in the year. "I experienced some issues related to the injuries that needed to be addressed with a rigorous schedule of physical and occupational therapy which is what I have been doing regularly since July," said Adler, who went on to mention that he is making "great progress" and has been practicing drums every day.

"Playing drums is what I do and refuse to do it poorly. I will be back behind the kit ASAP," he asserted, again offering his thanks to the fans for their support.
