According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, Missoula was faced with a relatively large number of theft trials this past week among the 17 felony cases that her office worked on.

"Well, it's been quite a week, we started off with a parenting interference case, followed by not one, but five theft cases, tampering with evidence, a disorderly conduct and two felony DUIs," Pabst said.

Another sad tendency in this past week’s crime list was a large number of child abuse cases.

"There were two sexual assault cases that involved three child victims, one was charged earlier this week and we're looking at another one," Pabst said. "There was an assault on a peace officer, an assault with a weapon... that was a knife. A drug case, a criminal endangerment, a burglary at a motel , an assault on a minor in which CPS had to get involved and a felony partner assault case."

Yet another odd crime trend appears to be hit-and-run DUI cases. Last week, Missoula Police handled out at least three charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
