Logging trucks moving logs from a timber project south of Hamilton will be a regular feature of traffic on US 93 for several months.

Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest said about 12 trucks a day will be moving logs from the Westside Vegetation Management Project and timber sale between Roaring Lion and Lost Horse Creek. the trucks will be moving about 6 million board feet of timber to Pyramid Mountain Lumber in Seeley Lake. McKay said that averages out to about 1,000 truckloads.

The trucks will be operating Monday through Friday through the first part of 2018.

The project on the Bitterroot National Forest covers about 2,000 acres near the area of recent major forest fires in the valley. For more information, check the Bitterroot National Forest Facebook page.
