Missoula police ended up charging a man with three different assault charges on Sunday after an ex-girlfriend called 911 reporting an attack.

"About 3:30 in the 2200 block of West Central, officers were called to the report of a domestic disturbance," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "When they arrived they learned that the male had already left the area, however thee female reported that she had been punched and headbutted by her ex-boyfriend who was identified as 30-year-old Curtis Weeks."

Weeks collected the next two assault charges when police confronted him later that evening on West Broadway around 5:00 p.m.

"They asked him if he had intentions of harming himself, he denied that, then they informed him that he was under arrest for offenses committed at the earlier disturbance with his ex-girlfriend," Welsh said. "Mr. Weeks stood up and punched an officer in the face who was coming up to help to control him. He immediately began to fight with the other two officers and in fact pushed an officer down before he was secured in handcuffs."

The officer that was punched in the face had to go to hospital for a potentially cut eye. Weeks faces one charge of Partner or Family Member Assault, one charge of misdemeanor Assault, and a felony charge for assaulting a Police Officer.
