A Redding, California man is facing felony drug charges after Cheyenne-area troopers found 197 pounds of marijuana inside his horse trailer.

Court records say 65-year-old Larry Gibson was pulled over on Interstate 80 west of Cheyenne Saturday after a trooper passing his pickup and trailer noticed he didn't have any registration.

The traffic stop led to a search and troopers found 159 vacuum sealed packages of marijuana in different areas of the trailer.

An affidavit says Gibson admitted that he was being paid to transport the marijuana from Redding, California to Alabama.

Gibson was arrested and has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and no valid registration. He could face up to 15-and-a-half years in prison if convicted.

Gibson's bond was set at $10,000 cash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 10 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
