What a year to be a Metallica fan! With landmark anniversaries for Master of Puppets and the 'Black Album,' a new photo book, deluxe reissues and yes, a new album on the way, it just keeps getting better. The thrash legends will be performing at the Global Citizen Festival and for those who can't get to the show, you can catch the action through an official live stream.

The event is slated for this Saturday (Sept. 24) in the world-famous Central Park in New York where Metallica will share the stage with mainstream acts like Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and, closer to the rock spectrum, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. The stream for Metallica's set will be available through the Global Citizen YouTube channel and a trailer can be seen below.

Throughout the year, Metallica have been playing spot shows, but have promised that they'll be touring aggressively in support of Hardwired... To Self-Destruct. The Global Citizen Festival stream joins a list of shows the band have already streamed, including their 'The Night Before' pre-Super Bowl concert, the intimate Rasputin Music performance on Record Store Day as well as a gig at the new U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.

The long-awaited new record from the Bay Area thrashers is set to arrive on Nov. 18 with the single "Hardwired" already released. The band recently shook up the deluxe edition of the album, scrapping demo material in favor of the Rasputin Music performance, a 2016 edition of "Lords of Summer" as well as three cover tunes.
